If you do not have any idea of what is happening in the world that you might be able to use for your Current Event assignment, following is a list of some of the more reliable and current event resources that are valid and hopefully interesting for you. The sources bellow are not the only ones! If you have a particular interest that is not shown in the sources provided come see me, we can work on finding info. If you find an awesome source that I am missing, by all means let me know! National Public Radio (NPR): Gives news, events and opinion about many current issues. Of special interest might be: “All Things Considered” or “Morning Edition.”
Frontline (PBS) this website has full length programs on a variety of topics that deal with national and international current events. CNN News: One of the major news organizations in the US. BBC News: A very good source of world news from a different (European) perspective. Al Jazeera News Network: Magazine: Good sources of news from an Arab perspective in English. The Japan Times: One of the major Japanese English newspapers on the web Latinamerica Press: News from a Latin American Perspective in English Envirolink: If the Environment is of concern to you, here is a good source for news related to it. MyWire: A great shource for current articles on many topics, this time I typed in “Racim in America” but you could get info on many more topics. |
